Tomato Alicante

The Alicante tomato is a classic, easy-to-grow variety known for its excellent flavor and reliable yields. It’s a favorite among home gardeners for its smooth, medium-sized fruits and vigorous growth.

Characteristics:

• Type: Indeterminate (keeps growing and producing fruit throughout the season)

• Size: Can grow up to 5–6 feet tall

• Fruit: Medium-sized, round, bright red, and full of flavor

• Time to Harvest: Around 65–75 days after transplanting

Growing Tips:

• Sunlight: Needs full sun (at least 6–8 hours per day)

• Soil: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter

• Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy

• Support: Requires staking, caging, or a trellis to support growth

• Feeding: Use a high-potassium fertilizer for better fruiting such as Tomorite or Big Tom 

• Pruning: Remove suckers (side shoots) to encourage larger fruits and better airflow
